Day two with the Okie Hillbillie's

I took the Okie Hillbillie's to an old house in Western AR today,
It was probably built in the 30's, & lived in up to the 80's.
we found lots of Relics, horseshoes, plow points, chains, broken pots,
sad iron, shoe last foot, stirrup, bridle bit,(throwing type horseshoes)
well chain, lots of misc.
Hillbillie # 1 found several clad coins, & one silver Rosie, (1964).
Coins are on the well curb dated 1980, I built the curb myself while
doing work for the people, metal was added later.
we had another great day in the country, (swinging the detectors)

Re: Day two with the Okie Hillbillie's

Hope you guys put a big magnet down that well. Never know what you'll drag up.
Then, tie ropes to each handle of a post hole digger and send it down, and grab a scoop of dirt. A bucket might work, too.

You know them ding danged kids threw money down that well.

Some nice relics of a bygone era. 8) I remember my grandmother using a couple of sad irons, keeping one on the stove to heat and alternating them.

Back in the early 50's, dad worked in a foundry and they cast similar ones like that to be used as ashtrays.
