I'm upgrading from my Teknetics Delta 4000 and have decided on an F5. One of the main features I'm looking forward to will be the manual ground balance since I plan on taking it to the beach multiple times a year, although it will be a dirt machine 95% of the time. I know it's not a true saltwater (PI) machine, but I've heard it holds it's own in wet sand. I just wanted to verify that the coil and cable are waterproof. I don't plan on getting the entire unit wet of course, but I'm sure I'll wander to the waterline once and awhile and the coil will inevitably find itself submerged by the occasional wave. Will this be an issue?

Thanks!

Yep, Gary has it right, as always... Waterproof to the control box. :icon_thumright:

Good deal, thanks. :icon_thumleft:

Excellent choice, the F5. I'm thinking an F5 with a 5'x8' DD might get along quite well with my F70 and 10" elliptical.

Ill agree on that to the f5. With that carbón fiber look & nice screen its a Very good looking machine. Keep us updated on what ya think, I just picked up a nice f75ltd & still waiting to get outside & play

I just upgraded my machine to the fisher F 5 from the Ace 250. And I can't wait to get out and try it. Looks like the ground will thaw sometime next week. I will be playing in the mud for sure. I hope that this machine is going to be as good as I think. HH all

On the subject of coils...for an extra $60 bucks I can get the 11" DD. Should I just go with the DD out the box? I've never used a DD, but I've heard pinpointing can be a little tricky. Is it a noticeable improvement over the factory coil?

Thanks.

In my opinión dd are the go to coils I know concentric work but I definetly prefer dd coils any day for me they work 100% better

good luck with that after the storm coming on Thursday :(

Nice choice with the F5 and don't remind us of this storm :crybaby2: I've got plenty of snow already!

I feel sorry for the people in the south and east coast, but I think here in the Midwest we just mite be done with the snow. We have about 6 inches on the ground now but mon and tue will be in the 50's

Yeah, yeah, yeah lol

Well it's starting to reach the thirties here, woah! Haha

I'm in south central Louisiana and right now it's pouring rain outside, 34 degrees and 95% humidity. Supposed to get back below freezing tomorrow night. No big deal for the rest of the country, I know, but around here that's pretty cold. We have our share of bad drivers during normal weather, but put ice on the road once every 5 or 6 years, LOOK OUT! :icon_biggrin:

I know what you mean. I lived in Houston and they had a ice storm and omg. I thought the world was coming to a end the way they drove. Good luck down there.

If you can afford the difference, its well worth the extra $60 for the DD coil.

I would definitely go with the DD coil. Well worth the difference in price.
