They'd been calling for rain today so I figured I'd try to catch an hour or so before it arrived. They were also calling for rain the rest of the week and I knew I wouldn't be getting out for a few days.

I went to my penny ante park and raised the stakes a bit. Figuring I might only get a little time before the raindrops started falling, I decided to raise them to quarter ante only. :) Seems, it worked too. LOL

Thing is, I got in a solid 4.5 hours before I gave up waiting on the rain to start!

When you only hunt for upper echelon VDI's you always miss some "lesser" targets, like rings. :dontknow:

Here's the take:

Even got a little surprise.

Hard to see but the back says "EXTRA RICH GILT COLOUR"

Now, how do you suppose that happened, in this sort of hunt? LOL

Somehow, I still had fun today. I wonder why. ;)

Thanks for peeking!

Oh yeah, it was a surprise! I had mistaken it for another penny and tossed it in the pouch. Didn't know it until I got home.
Even though I was "quarter hit hunting", I know that if they dropped a quarter from their pocket, just might be something else fell out too. Like that 4 carat diamond ring that was in there. LOL So, to that end, I always check for signals around the quarter. It's how I found that wolf ring in the last post. ;)

Good job detecting there! For me anything 4 H plus would be a long hunt most of my hunts are only 2 to 3 hours long due to prior commitments.
