A pocket watch back I found at an old mine site has an inscription. I can see 7-17-27 JOHN but cannot tell what the last name/word is. Any guesses?

John Crary is what i see.

To me it looks like Cravy or Crary. That last little loop before the ‘Y’ is throwing me off. Thanks for the help guys, anyone else please feel free to offer up your interpretation. !
