🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Decorative Brass Plate

Found in South West Michigan at a pre 1864 home site.
Judging by the holes in the inner ring I assume it was a decorative piece attached to something.

Makes me think of the covers I’ve seen on old chimneys where a stove pipe would attach to vent up the chimney

Although it has a similar design it’s half of the standard 6 inch stove pipe diameter and I have only seen these covers made from sheet steel. Never brass.

At 3 inches diameter and detailed could it be part of a compact case

Do the small pin holes go all around the center?
If they do, I was thinking thread, so it would of been sown onto something.

That or a center design on something.
