I’ve been using treasure.net as an information resource for a long time (many years), and, honestly, for entertainment, too. I’ve learned a lot about a lot of things. When I’m looking for more detailed information on something, I’ll go to a dedicated forum on a subject and search there, or ask there about the thing I’m working on.

For instance I have forums specifically for military medals, clocks and watches, civil war stuff, coins, military miniatures, silver hallmarks, and antique bottles.

I’m missing one though, and I’ve looked repeated for months: Medals.

Not military awards, but the big, typically round, typically bronze things. Awards for this, dedications for that. I have a bunch of medals that I cannot identify and I'd like to be able to find an active forum, like treasure.net where people know medals that can help me identify them, and maybe I could help others with what I know about them, too.

Might anyone know of such a forum?

Thanks :)

You could post them a few at a time in our "What Is It Forum".

If, in fact, you have been using TN for years for information and entertainment, then you also realize that a particular forum is not necessary to obtain assistance in ID-ing objects. As Treasure Hunter mentioned above, post a couple of unknowns in the "What is It" forum and you may pleasantly surprised with the results.
Don.......

Two thoughts...

I don't have a couple of things to post in the "What Is It" forum here, I have literally hundreds of items.

Further, some of the items are so obscure that I'm really looking for educated specialists in their perspective fields. That's where the dedicated forums come in to play.

Well, I don't have any of the small medals that I can photograph, or have pictures of already, immediately handy.

I do have a plaque though. It's about two feet wide. It's really really heavy. I was told what it was, which was wrong, but I'll withhold that for the moment as not to pollute thought.

I should mention that the weird spots on the face of the plaque are from the egg crate foam box that it was sitting in since the mid-1970's.
