Nice idea. My inexperienced possibly worthless suggestions: Take out half the angle iron and have a better down chute on the feed. You will constantly be pushing the gravel in to it I believe. Hope you find lots of gold!
 

Also for safety - you need a guard at the top of your chute. There is a huge potential for a pinch injury there! I like my fingers.
 

I thought I might need to remove 2 angle and go with 6 instead of 8 but when I tried it it worked great so the number of angle is not a problem. The feed hopper needs to be at a steeper angle for sure. I thought 45 degrees would be enough for dry dirt but I have had to push my all my feed in so I might try a 50 degree. Thanks for the heads up about that and the pinch point. I appreciate your input.
