Just got back from detecting with my brother John, here's some pictures of the day and what we found. John had the best finds with two Georgian coins and one roman, I got a medieval dress fastener. As usual we finished the day in a pub.

Robert

PS I've got longer hair.

I wish I had a ploughed field like that at this time of year.

The Roman looks like Crispus AD317-326, rev: BEATA TRANQUILITAS. Is it?

I love stubble ;D

absolutely excellent finds..and that pub looks mighty dang nice as well..

ahh! Those English pubs, been to many of those. Ahh, and that beer, yumm yumm, drank too many of those. ;D. I have hunted fields in England, for arrowheads only. Would love to hunt a few fields I saw around the Cottswald area with a detector, or maybe Bath. Have you ever hunted around Bath? I would imagine you could find Roman relics there.

I visit Bath quite often, it was very important in the Roman period & people travelled thousands of miles to get well.

Its been detected to death, loads of Roman stuff but mostly gone now.

From the top of my head, I don't think Constantine had the globe & alter reverse.

How many Roman last year, good question I should think about 100 with a few being silver. Some friends had well over 1000 off one site with plenty of silver ones. The attraction for most over here is hammered coins, grotty roman coins tend to get thrown in the scrap believe it or not.

Robert.

Agreed, mine go in a jar. Short-cross hammered is where its at or Sceat's which I never see.

Jolly good Hunt guys and we Yanks are ready to join you at the pub.
SKD

No it still says Constantine definitely not Crispus.
