I found in a friends garage sale a metal detector made by Whites and labeled and sold by Sears and Robuck. I emailed Whites and found out it was made around 1972-1975 and sold for 369.95 and was a midrange model. It is in excellent condition just slight wear on the plastic coil cover. and is powered by 16 AA Batteries.

It looks just like the TR-66 that I used to use. . Good detector but unbalanced. I put an extension rod on the handle which made it better. Also was pretty heavy but back then I was a lot younger!
