Detroit Tiger Stadium

Hey!!! I suggest anyone who is going to come over here ( I kinda of see it as my neighborhood , I,m only about 2 miles down the road, West that is } and interested in getting some old silver, copper and maybe Gold coins or jewelry or older relics, Don,t be writing to the Free Press or going to the Coleman Young Building.Everybodies coming down now because of the building, nots what under it, WE!!!!! don,t need kwames mob squad who haven,t a clue about REAL Detroit History ruining our chances of getting some goodies and maybe making some historical find. I,ve been living in southwest Detroit for almost 50 years so I no better. You wait for the building to come down, than you get a different crew coming in hopefully somebody nice, understanding and interested in our hobby, someone like Dan the Man who let me have an open field on Michigan Ave from Wyoming to Livernois , plus I came in handy in WATCHING OVER the construction equipment after 5.Right now theres just a hole in the north side ,thats it, plus they still have that thing going with Levin until August 1 about saving the Stadium in some form or another.Talking about Stadiums, let me throw this at everyone here, like I said I was doing Michigan Ave a few years back, I live just 1.5 blocks away.Had made friends with alot of the crew from Dan,s.Had told me what they had found when they were doing the East bound side.Had missed alot of the East side construction because one of my parents had fallen very, very ill.Skeleton of a horse, 1903 Morgan Dollar and alot of Antique bottles.Well one told me that they had did a part of the new Tiger Stadium, when they were digging to install new sewer lines one of there fellow workers was down in the ditch { about 15 feet } for along time is what this worker told me.When they called on him what he was doing down there so long he came up the ladder with 5 Gold coins and a pistol in his hand.Well to make it short they all went down to find some more, with no metal detectors they couldn,t plus time had stopped them in continuing because they were getting ready to lay the pipe. The guy that found the coins and pistol doesn,t work for Dans anymore. He couldn,t tell me if they were American,English or French coins.Cache in the middle of Tiger Stadium is a pretty sure thing.I believe the Detroit to Chicago StageCoach Line had a sub office in that area since it sounds like the coins and pistol were found in a once buried basement.Nobody would of dug 15 feet to bury anything, specially that close to the City .To bad now we all would have to wait until that new Stadium becomes old and ready to be demolished.

Im not writing or doing anything the reality is you need a deep detector and with all the metal comeing down there will be lots of trash and if they found stuff well the historic will be there

I just hop ethat once they are done with the demolishing, that they scrap the soil a good 6"- 12" to get ride of all that surface junk.

Then, we attack!

Like I keep telling you guys, the demolition crew is just for demolishing, PERIOD!!! no digging or scrapping any soil, unless they get paid to dig out the old sewer and water lines, most don,t that will be the next crews responsibility, the builders, whatever is going to be put on that spot, actually whatever is going to be put on that spot won,t generate enough money even to pay for its utility.I was doing that park in front of the train station about 12 years ago, I stopped when I was pulling out 1970,s pennies and dimes as deep as 10 inches.About 8 inches consisted of what I call dead grass overlay, the last two inches was soil. They had stopped cutting the grass there for along time so it grew died grew died grew and died, year after year.
