Well go figure its raining today, on one of the first few days the snow has actually melted, What a perfect opportunity to test my Deus on some Australian gold!

I used my 1.5g gold nugget to test the stock programs, and most of them had similar performance, with the exception of the GM Power 18 khz program, which gave a very solid tone at 7-8 in. Not too bad given how small it is!

Silver,

Just bough an AT Pro and just recently saw the Deus.. Thing has me geeking out. I see you have an ATP how do you compare that to the Deus?

Well, they are both pretty fast, but the Deus is definitely quicker and deeper, with some really great tech in it. That's not saying the AT is a slouch, because it is a great versatile detector, and was a perfect entry unit for me. Its not really a fair comparison, its like racing a Chevy Malibu against a Corvette. I love technology, so the Deus had been on my radar for a long time, and luckily I was able to get a 50% discount from XP, so I had to pull the trigger. It takes longer to understand the Deus settings, but they can be adjusted so quickly, its easy to experiment with them. It may not give me the same depth as an E-Trac/CTX on a deep silver dime, but I will be able pull goodies masked by iron a lot easier.

That being said, I can't imagine I will ever get rid of my AT Pro, because its pick up and go usability and waterproofing.

That's great to know. Think I'll give the ATP a year or so but I want that Deus, it looks super slick and it's good to know it performs as good as it looks. I too definitely like how techy it is and looks. Looks like a real 21st century detector not to mention how compact it is which is probably what appeals to me most. May I ask how you managed a 50% disc?
