Did a box on a road trip

I picked up a box ($500) and the family did it on a 4 hour road. It really made a great way to pass the time. Too bad it was a skunk. But, the kids were happy when they found a roll with 22 coins and I said they could have the extras! Now I'm in a new town. I'll dump on someone and hit up some banks around here.


I tried calling ahead and having a bank here order me a couple of boxes for the ride home, but I didn't plan far enough ahead for them to get the shipment.

How do you guys do your road trips? Do you just walk into banks and polietly ask for all their halves. When you're out of money, dump them at a bank and start over?

Dan, that is exactly how I do road trips. I let the kids spend some of the halves too. The recipients think they are striking it rich. Especially give them the Bicentennials, they love them. Jim

Oh yeah, If you happen across one of those floating casinos, they have bags andboxes of halves.

most here plan thier road trips ahead of time. they call ahead and ask if they have any halfs on hand.....but they may still check the ones that said no. sometimes on the phone its easier to blow you off when they don't feel like checking, so sometimes it pays to check anyway. most of the serious monster hunters bring more than enough money with them so they don't have to dump. but don't let that stop you. if you find a dump bank just buy all the halfs you can afford, search them , dump them and go back for more.repeat the process until you have exhausted that bank of halves . then move on to the next bank and repeat the process.it may take a little more time doing it this way but the end result is the same.
do yourself a favor if your new to this and read the first thread in the CRH forum....lots of good info....and remember the most important rules.......
1- do not dump at the same bank who provided you coins
2-DO NOT MARK YOUR COINS
