I've never seen one but some quartz maybe? Hope the I.D. comes thru for you. What state are you in? It might help w/I.D. Also a measurement or something in the pic to show size like a coin or lighter etc. Good luck.

Good luck and welcome!!

Kindest regards,
Kantuck

Why do you think it is glass?
It looks like a very clear quartz to me. I have one that is similar and others have posted pics of quartz points as clear as that one.

a friend at work brought something for me to look at...

I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard teverly69! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) so if you ask a question, etc. - people may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

Does look like crystal quartz. Very nice and rare find.

I’d say really nice crystal quartz would love to see cleaned up pics of it in the sun light

I have a few glass scrapers that were made by the NA's but they are all post contact.

A few glass arrowheads were found on a historic Indian site near Ft. Kaskaskia in IL on the MS River. Gary

I've found several glass artifacts. One scraper and one point from a contact period site in Massachusetts. I was also with Dr. RM Gramly at walking the banks of the N. Platte River in Wyoming near an old Pony Express station when he found a graver made of bottle glass.

red points made from railroad glass too....

Not to mention obsidian points, which are nothing but volcanic glass.

Would be interesting to know where you found this, your info. doesn't say where you are. Where I live in central Arkansas, we have a natural vein of quartz in the local mountains and I have seen an actual quartz crystal arrowhead/ projectile-point which was found in this area. Are you sure yours is glass?

Beautiful point nice find and welcome to the forum.

That thing is awesome! I'm sure the maker was super proud of that one.

I have a few made of clear quartz as well. My dad found them when I was a kid.

I have dug up broken pieces of clear glass in a trash/fire spot amongst burned bones, fire stone and the other usual stuff you find. The pieces did have a "worked" look to them but they were so small I just dismissed it as modern glass that somehow got mixed in or was possibly traded or something. Interesting topic, Ill have to keep any more pieces I find.

Yes they did...I have a small broken bird point made from a plate glass window found in NE. California in a midden site...I'll try and find it and take a pic to post
