Sure, there are a few nice scoops out there. I am hooked on the Sunspot scoop as it is a wide stainless steel baby that will dig thru anything. It is basically a water scoop and not great in dry sand like the screen sifters. http://www.sunspotedm.com/beachscoops/index.html

It is a favorite of many, but costs $189.00 an worth it.

THANKS I'LL CHK IT OUT .........

Sandman is on target there. I am looking at the same scoop or something similar. A little extra money but the time and strength you will save yourself will result in much more quality hunt time. I have a pretty good scoop now but I am looking to upgrade to the one that Sandman has referred you to.

I have clearly experienced that as you become tired, your finds deminish. Your technique and discipline go out the window and you may as well be playing checkers back home.

Get the big efficient scoop, pay the money and you won't be sorry.

Good luck,

Jim

Sandman is correct, buy the best scoop you can, save your back. The Sunspot or Beach Brute will last a lifetime. I have never even come close to bending my scoop, and I put a lot of torque on it sometimes. It takes a beating and keeps on digging.

I have the Beach Brute and I'm looking for a used Sunspot on the boards, I just have to get lucky and catch it before someone else beats me to it.
