this is a area right by my house. the other day while walking there i found 5 flakes just laying on ground, my ?? is do i sift in areas or should i just start scrapping away at the edge of the drop off. property is way behind a school there are a few bmx jumps and paintballing kids, so i figure what the heck. other side is all flood plain

Can you see any darker layers in the face that might indicate an occupation? In the 3rd picture on the left hand side of it it looks like a layer of rock and other debris is visible. Check for areas like that and see if there is any evidence of Fire Cracked Rock, Pottery, Flint, Bone, etc. That would be the place to start of you see anything like that.
