Hi everyone. I'm just getting into this new hobby. We have to old mines up at our hunt camp with loads of rock on the ground around them and there is still fine gold in them. I guess they couldn't process it. I've studied what would be required and know that I can make most of it:

a DIY jaw crusher to reduce the rocks to 2 -2 1/2";
a DIY pulveriser to reduce the 2" to powder under 30 mesh;
a DIY gold cube to concentrate my dust; and
a DIY gold lab/ blue bowl to separate all the fine gold.

This is my version of your basic pulveriser which I came up with after looking at many on the net and using the best ideas that suited my requirements.

Self powered, easy to maintain and replace parts, powder rock 2" and smaller, fit in the back of a pickup, portable when on the ground

Parts: 7 hp snow blower engine with added air filter, 2 x 1/4" x 12" square steel plate, 1/4" x 3" flat, 1/8 x 3" square tube, Wheels from the snow blower, 2 x hardened chain hooks, misc scrap steel and hard ware. cost was about $150 Cdn. The only difficult part was making the hub for the hooks on the milling machine and that wasn't that hard could be done with a hacksaw and files.

Note: don't order screen plate $$$ look in kitchen ware BBQ stuff for strainers. I found a BBQ beget warmer with 1.3 mm holes, cut 6 screen plates out of it for $10 bucks!

Sorry the pics are turned it loaded them that way and I can't fine a way to turn them back.

That looks really cool. I bet it works well.

Thanks Pure gold. I tried to upload a video to show it in action but it was to big. I get about 5% sneaking threw over 30 mesh the rest is down to under 100. I don't have my screens at home so I couldn't get a breakdown of sizes.

Nice design work...:occasion14:

Fixed the pics. Seems if the files are too large the sites software
turns 'em sideways.
