Found same day, same creek, within yards from each other. I really think it is a pecking stone and a pressure stone for a fire starter, but they fit very well so that's how I'll show 'em!

If I found them the way you did,I certainly would have carried them home too. Especially if the creek produces. Of course you may never be 100% certain and I have several different items in that category.
Pictures can be very deceiving at times or at best insufficient. To me the " holed" stone looks like granite or something else very hard rather than the type of softer material that regularly occurs with pocket sediment erosion holes and the like.
