Do y'all ever ask for loose/cwr halves from the banks that order boxes for you. I want to but don't want to seem demanding since they already do me a huge favor

I allways do, but, after yrs of doing this they all already know what I do and most of the time they will say " hey, we have some that someone turned in, do you want them too?" I also tell them that I need some to replace the ones that I keep out of the box. HH, Maverick.

There is nothing wrong with letting them know you want ALL the halves. Generally speaking, banks/tellers HATE half dollars. Many of them will consider it a favor if you take them off their hands.

ABSOLUTELY!!

Last silver I got was a 40% from $10 of loose halves the teller had.

I have picked up a few 40%ers that were loose. Usually they ask if I even want the dirty ones. And one time the Teller that takes the Note payments had 30$ or so in halves that had $13.50 that were 40%. It never hurts to ask!!!

If youre not youre definitely losing out on some ag (maybe not a lot but some) honestly most of my ag in the last 4months have come from teller trays-
With that said two of my pick up branches dont carry cwr they just toss all loose coins into their counter :-( ive asked if they would hold them for me but apparently its a corporate policy (this is a local CU) but my other pick ups ive had many of teller trays and cwr scores

just keep stacking, just keep stacking, stacking stacking stacking

Heck yah!!

I usually ask as I have the boxes, and ready to walk out the door, "does you guys have any loose halves also?"

Last week, I ran into a buddy from work at my pickup bank, picking up 6 boxes... he knows what I do and he sometimes hunts dimes/nickels for silver... He said he was going to go inside and ask for silver, and I told him I had to go get my other 3 boxes that I paid for, and on my way out with my last 3 boxes, I asked "Do you guys have any loose halves?" And no one said anything till I was about out the door, and one teller said she had 1 coin... so i set down my 3 boxes and walk over, and exchange 2 quarters for a 67 half! haha... I walked out the door and flipped it to him to see what he missed out on! haha

Honestly I feel more weird asking my dump banks if they have any halves, after they just cash me out for 1k+ of halves... lol, but they dont seem to mind at all, and last week I scored 9 40%ers out of $5.50 in a teller tray at the one dump bank.

Bank tellers just love to get rid of loose halves so they don't have count at the end of the day , or to hold on to them long, since they cannot deposit coin into the fed system. Most tellers would give them to anyone that asks, especially those Gold presidential dollars.

I hate those gold dollars, haha, as do ALL tellers!

Yeah just ask Diver Down lol. And I remember my best cwr score about 2 1/2 years when I scored 3 solid rolls of Walkers and Ben's. It wasn't a box p/u bank of mine and I didn't even have an acct there but I still remember the teller thanking me at least two or three times for helping her get rid of her half dollars. I didn't realize till about 5 minutes later what a great score I just made. I sure wish I could help out tellers like that everyday lol.

I don't ask. I buy um all.

I always make certian to tell them, I'll buy the other teller's coins if they have any to.
