Do you like the new penny?

I like it. Although I like the memorial too.

I like it, I'm glad they are making changes to our stale coinage!

I think they should have just left all the coins alone I prefer the old ones to any of the new ones.

too bad they don't make them to last anymore, like disapearing ink. most banks won't take coroded zincons.

I like the new design. But...

I'd like it a lot better if they made the shield smaller and added a shaft of wheat on each side. Now that would have been a really classic design.

I think it's about time to get rid of old Abe. His profile has been on the cent for 101 years. Jeez!

if your talking of these

Yes.

it's better then the Tired old
Buildings & Eagles.

Now if they would
do away with the Tired old
real people
They'd Maybe look even better.

I would think they have to as long as it can be id'd as a cent. As far as the new ones go, they look alright except for one thing.................they're still icon_hunter.gif ZINC!!!

I like the designs, but don't like the metallic composition.
Checking the final production numbers of the four designs and the two mints that produced them, it is easy to see which have the greatest potential for appreciation of value. Just make sure you get them shiny and put them up. One day they may be worth what a solid copper cent is worth. :laughing7:

2009 Lincoln Cent Mintage
"Birthplace" – Philadelphia 284,400,000
"Birthplace" – Denver 350,400,000
"Formative Years" – Philadelphia 376,000,000
"Formative Years" – Denver 363,600,000
"Professional Life" – Philadelphia 316,000,000
"Professional Life" – Denver 336,000,000
"Presidency" – Philadelphia 129,600,000
"Presidency" – Denver 198,000,000

I like the new look.....kind of classy looking.....but I agree that they need to make the pennies to last....after a few years in the ground, they are so corroded and crumbly that they disintegrate and banks really dont want them.....in the future detectorists wont be finding many pennies unless they are the pre 1982 ones.....

The mint makes pennies now? ::) Just for the record, great Britain makes pennies, we have cents.
