Do you love your Cibola?

My Cibola will be here on Wed..will let you know what I think of it. Anyone want to buy some snow, everything must go, bring your own truck :help:

BUY? Heck Ill give it away...u haul all ya need! ;D..congrats on the C!

I have owned a Cib, and maybe I didn't run it enough to form an honest opinion, but for some reason I favored my Silver uMax. Sold the Cib and still use the Silver. But that's just me. I really like those uMax models.

Im ready to buy another Tesoro...had it figured down to the V, but my ground in northern Indiana is gravey sooooo,Im thinkin maybe all I need is a Cibola...profess your love/hate for them please! HH
I love my Cibola. Have had it for a bit over 2mo. Light, simple, and it just plain WORKS! Goes very deep for me in NTX soils. Pinpoints easily even w/o using the pinpoint button.

I am sure you will be happy with the V. You cannot go wrong, as that is a very good all around detector. Congrats! :icon_thumright:

If you don't mind re-ground balancing every few minutes, the Vaquero is a great detector. Exactly like the Cibola in every other way.

In fact, the Cibola might even be better! You can super tune it to get even better depth.
I will go along with that the ground balancing every time you turn around is a pain in the a$$ and takes time away from hunting.

I think i will stay away from the Cibola it seems like ,,Mental Granny,,digging fool,, & birdman don't think it is that great..

Kando You have to take talk like that with a grain of salt. I heard a lot of good things about the Cibola. The only bad talk on the Cibola is in this forum here. But it was asked do you like or dislike the Cibola and 3 of them shot it down.

on my secound year with my Cibola, i love it, found gold ring, old tokens and silver... got great depth finding a .22 bullet when it was over 6inchs in the ground..at first it mad me mad not understanding the machine and than after some advice from here that machine is great.. just get your gold, silver, iron out. play with settings, i used a small pointed marker for me, so when i go to a park im just off iron but i still can hit gold jewlery.. this year since i have the tiger shark, ill be in water and my daughter can hit the beach or park area... wont be disapointed :headbang:

I'll admit my Cib has some level of difficulty with the highly mineralized soil here in NW Arkansas, but overall I have very few complaints. Considering the rocks here drove my ACE 250 bonkers, I really can't complain about my Cibola's performance. Manual GB here is pointless-the ground changes every 500 feet, requiring frequent re-balancing.
I love both of my Tesoros, the Cibola for relic hunts, the Compadre for coin shooting.
When you relic hunt with a Cibola....bring a real shovel, because you ARE going to be deep digging.

I'm getting to where I can pretty well pick out the rock chatter from real targets now that I have decent headphones.

i love mine cibola it a very good detector no
doubt about it :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Shortbill , You got out and like your Cibola good but don't you have a lot of snow cover yet or has a lot melted..

All the snow in my yard is now gone!!!! I hunted a celler hole on Mon and still some snow in the woods. It's looking better around here! I dug 2 more horse shoes lastnite in my back yard too.
Keppy, I sent you a PM.

I've had 6 Tesoro's and the Cibola is my favorite. And it is NOT a Vaquero with preset ground balance. There are design differences between the Cibola and Vaquero that allows the Cibola to be a smoother and more stable machine. Just ask the guys at Tesoro.

The cibola is a great machine but I hunted out my yard where I used to live and found a lot of stuff then re hunted it when I got a Vaquero and it was like a virgin yard again. This was in North Dakota and the ground balance made a huge difference there in that soil.

The Cibola was my first detector and YES I love it. I live in the vicinity of a civil war site and I have found all kinds of things with it. I had always been told that my area was completely hunted out, but the Cibola proved that to not be true. It even works great in the shallow river water and sand in front of my house.

I now have a Tiger Shark and I look forward to all the things I will find in the river this summer. I also am saving up to get a Tejon as I have been eager to try it out.

But, to answer your question - Yes I love my Cibola. I have found it to be a great machine.

I was thinking of getting one but after reading here not deep can not use in construction i guess that leaves the Cibola out don't want any thing like that. Don't sound like a good detector at all why do people buy it?
Oh no you DIDN"T! :nono:
Tesoros are relic MAGNETS! They are DEEP relic magnets. You will find more junque iron with a Tesoro if you don't discriminate it out but then you will also miss viable targets.
They are American made and come with a lifetime warranty.

???

I positively love my Cibola! I don't know about other areas, but here in central Texas it is perfect for what I use it for.....RELIC HUNTING! To me it is the perfect relic (field hunting) machine. I turn it on, set the sensitivity to 10 (there is never any chatter), set threshold to max, and discrimination just past iron. I put on my headphones and let the symphony begin.

Although it does not tone ID, it does make different sounds on different kinds and types of metal. It nulls nails and other small ferrous, tin cans, etc. however it will sound on large iron at this setting, but you know it is large iron by the loudness of the signal and if it still makes a signal with the coil 6-8 inches off the ground.

On coins(silver, copper, nickel), bullets, brass shotshell ends and other like items it gives a short, quick and sweet repeatable sound. Most times I can tell it is a coin just by the kind of sound it makes.

I have different detectors that I use for different situations, but for homestead/ field hunting I would put the Cibola right up there at the top!
