Outraged is correct as always, and Cody gave ya' a great example of the buttons - but the words on the back of the button, or the back mark, is key to actually dating the button. If you post a good picture of the back as best you can maybe we can figure it out...

Don't be afraid to clean the back with a toothbrush and mild cleaner, like kaboom or simple green... the button is fairly worthless.

Nice find! I love the buttons!

yes its a "great seal button" --commonly used on american military uniforms starting in 1902 --- differant makers supplied the military with them at differant times---the makers name is stamped on the back---thats the "key" to approximate dating it---they are not a high value collectors item but are neat as find--- its not worthless as some say--however its not a high dollar collector type item---Ivan

Forgot to say welcome to tnet from the UK.

Your find us knowledgeable (well me anyway), opinionated, funny & a little crazy. ;D

As previous said above it shouldn't be about the money (my opinion).

HAPPY HUNTING - keep posting them pictures!

thank you for your comments .I hunt for the thrill not the $

It's a great find... I only made the comment about value so you would know it was okay to clean the back up a little bit, thus maybe reading the back mark, and getting an idea of the button's age...

I have boxes of worthless stuff that I dug that is priceless to me... every button find is awesome!
