DOES ANYONE KNOW THE DIRECTIONS TO RANCHO DE LOS YUMAS ?

One of my sources says it is about 40 miles north of Yuma. But is that by road or by crow ?

I did a little searching on this on your behalf, and really there's not a lot in info out there. There is a multitude of gold claims north of Yuma, so my guess would be it's on one of those.

Thanks for effort. The location was half way between La Paz and Yuma. Although the owner, William Rood, did some prospecting, this place was his ranch. At his death in 1870 (murdered by his foreman) his estate only included a few hundred dollars in cash which was surprising as he was a successful businessman. And then in 1897 a man dug up a tin containing $1000 in gold coins...

I don’t know if my prospecting amigo is going to pull through…I doubt I will be able to return to Santa Fe without him…😭

Get a local map and draw a 40-mile circle around Yuma. Then start checking out anything. within that circle
