Does Anyone Worry About Posting Hunt Info?

Since I hunt a couple parks around here that are 17 miles long, I will tell what park, but not the exact area, it drives people nuts ;D. So much so, that I have seen them trying to follow me to the area, in that case, I lead them to the trashiest area that I know and I will start hunting there. Then at the next club meeting, I hear them telling their other buddies that I am nuts, because I hunt trashy areas :icon_pirat:. If I happen upon a construction site that is going to be covered in blacktop or concrete within the next couple days, I will hunt it for a day, then I will let a certain claim jumper know about it, then the next day there are at least 25 people there ;D Why let a spot like that get wasted? I have been researching apparently the same park that another person has been searching for also, he has found it first, but that will not stop me from going there, when I figure out the rest of the area, however from his research and my research (unbeknownst of each others work) I think I now know exactly where it is. Hope he doesn't think I've been following him around. I know he doesn't know the name of it, but I do, because My parents used to take me there when I was a kid, and it closed in the late 50's. That's my angle on sharing research, if ya don't help me then you don't get any info from me.........NGE

There are a couple of persons I know and trust that I'll share info and sites with but have had enough experience with others to learn a closed mouth gathers no rivals.

I agree with sagan. Why should you do all the work for the lazy Th. Anybody would be willing to go if your willing to share.
How would you feel if you found a virgin site and you shared your hard research work and gold, silver, tokens, were found but none by you.

If you do the research that area should be your. Do show your finds but never give the infor of where it was found. As for virgin ground that come by every once in a while. Usually my virgin ground is private yards that I get permission from to hunt...Matt

this reminds me of many years ago,I use to have a good bank fishing hole here in Oregon on the Alsea River.I was at that spot for years and caught alot of Steelhead trout. Then one of my friends, friends, ask to go along and me being a nice guy I took him and he caught a beauty 15lb steelhead. He was nice and said he would like to come back with me.About two weeks later he called and asked if Iwas going to fish the river that day,but I was busy that morning and said I would probably not make it.However, I got a chance to get away,so i drove the 35 mile ride and when i got to the spot,He was there with 5 of his friends and I had to bring my own rock to stand on.Anywhoooo!! It seems that if you have a good place in any outdoor activity, watch out who you tell cause if you do, then its openseason for anyone else. But, if you do have a good friends to go with, that won't spill the beans its alot of fun.Idig----PS If anyone here in Oregon knows where I can find Gold rings,Gold coins,Silver, money caches, please send me a "Google Map".I promise not to tell anyone :icon_scratch:Idig

I shared about apache gold on the new mexico site some one went and left a hole and did not send me anything. their e-mail address was erased also their phone number so i could not track them down.
the outher sites i have posted are mostly more general.

I think the biggest example of what unscrupulous individuals will do if they find out about your research is what happened to the owner of this website, Marc. Check his story on his profile, what happened to him is the ultimate in stolen research.
