The finds or the back and forth between the "Limeys"?

Hard for us "former colonists" no to be amused! lol

I once found a kids beaded bracelet with the girls name 'Emily'. I changed the beads around to say 'Limey' & worn it with pride.:laughing7:

Charming....(nicely done)

I was working with the US at the time, so it seem to make sense. If I every lose my Brit Humour, I know I'm in trouble.

It can also be called wit and our Ex Colonial friends say we 're full of it ( oops did I say that out loud). 

I thought sarcasm (the lowest form of wit) is our strongest export, although it rarely gets the response we expect.

Doc,

Don't you start, if you guys hadn't cheated in 1776 you would still be a Limey. Before you get all defensive on me.... In those days it was considered bad form to shoot at people before they were ready for you and it was considered very sneaky to wear green and hide behind something in order not to get shot.

Come on Doc there were loads of bright colors you could have chosen for your uniforms i know the French had already selected blue but bright yellow or orange even lime green was available.we even put a big white cross on our red fronts to make it fair, we know that "alls fair in love and war" at least it should be.

Seriously, if you don't start organizing the Best country in the world better than you are, us two Limeys might just take it back, you must have read BVI's SAS joke....dde0a

Ps this is a very fun enjoyable thread ( as long as BVI keeps finding stuff)

As an American soldier, I became VERY envious of the Brits when I was in Iraq. I was out in the sweltering summer heat one day and this group of soldiers goes jogging past me. One of them is obviously worn out, falls out of formation, and starts staggering a bit. The one in charge yells "toss 'im in the van and get 'im a beer!" I almost defected back right then and there!

Now Kevin, since a large majority of our ancestors were from the Emerald Isle, can you blame them for wearing colors to remember it by??!! LOL!!

Correct Mate! (no "s")

ee's actually not a bad geezer, though he does me 'ed in! I mean, love a duck gov'nor!

the fact that he's plod, don't worry me none - in fact I know he wont be grassin' to no one about the gear I found!

being a decent bloke, he'll probably get the first round of sherberts in when I go to his drum for a chin wag!! and we'll probably start early doors!
and I know if he's slagging me, he's only having a giraffe!

Blimey - I went all "Mary Poppins" mode there.....!!!!!

Congratulations on the great finds you're getting down there!!

I've been following this post with great interest for some time and with a full understanding of what all has been said until you posted the above:dontknow:, BOY you Brits sure do talk funny!!!:laughing7:

OK, so I've been trying all the online translators trying to find one that translated Brit to English to no avail, so now I'm off to find some Dick Van Dyke movies online, be back later when I can communicate with ya'll!!:laughing7:

By the way in case you're wondering, "ya'll" is southern yank English for "you all"!!

I won't comment on your GREAT humor because I wouldn't want SADS 669 reprimanding me!!:tongue3:

honestly it was not that we hid behind rocks and trees, wore green and fired before you were ready The difference was we were able to communicate with each other better. Probably because we gave up drinking tea. But we cannot be called unfair. We keep trying to show you boys how it is done, 1812, WW1, WW2, By the Falklands it looks like you boys are starting to get it down, but we are here to help.
