They see us out there searching the sand and it reminds them we are looking for anything they lose so they usually leave them in the car or at home before going to the beach. Course not everyone is smart. :laughing7:

lowtide tim has found a titanium and tungsten carbide last two spins

what is the world coming toooo

Not much, Between the skyrocketing prices of gold causing everyone to sell any and all gold they have and then some of us out there all day long right in the middle of the swimmers, there just isn't that much lost now. I have actually been sitting on the beach, seen some guy go by detecting and then witnessed people coming out of the surf to put rings, chains, ear rings and so forth "up" with their loved ones. It just throws up a major red flag. I prefer early morning or late night "stealth" hunting myself, but hey to each his own. Not trying to kick a bee's nest or anything, just relaying what I have seen with my own eyes. Oh well, maybe stainless steel or Carbide markets will go through the roof someday.

Been all junk for me the last few trips may try to go to a spot that almost always produces tomorrow. Have found loads of rings probably over 50 this year of those have gotten 4 gold.
Hope things turn around soon.

Gold? Gold?

Heck, right now I'd be happy finding a stupid child's silver ring at the beach.

"Oh look, a penny! Yeah, this detector is paying for itself.." ::)

I hear you guys about the junk rings. I want to scream every time I dig a stainless or tungsten wedding band. >:(

I found an engagement ring in a lake last year and it was not even real gold or stones. What is the world coming to?

I can tell you from my observations out in the water, the beach patrons ARE wearing gold into the water. LOTS of gold too, I just can't for the life of me figure out why there is not more being lost or more to the point not being found.

And yes while people do gawk and stare in awe wondering what it is you are doing, most have no clue what is is you are doing with those head phones on your head out in the water. Some people think you are just listening to the radio. That is probably the #1 question I get especially from women: "What are you doing?"

Admittedly my response is varies according to my mood or how pretty the girl is. :o
