Don't give up on those "hunted out" spots. VA button, eagles I's!!
Went to my hard hit civil war spot I've been going to since last spring. I always find at least one good relic though. This time was no exception. Nothing for 2 and a half hours then boom, got a bullet. 5 minutes later I get two eagle I buttons 2 feet from each other. The brass was screaming after all the rain and moisture. I worked the area but found nothing else than a fired bullet. Circled around the area and came a cross a high 80 on the vdi. Saw in the hole a large coat button. Floored to brush the dirt and see my first piece of confederate brass come from this property! This gives me hope for a cs plate! Worked the area and got an 82 vdi on the ole f75 and saw silver in the hole, thought for sure it was gonna be older, but turned out to be a mercury. After a couple shotgun shells, then dug a wheatie. It's almost common at this property if you find shotgun shells, an older coin will be close by. This kinda breathed some new life into this spot! Never give up on those sites. Always a gem waiting to be unearthed! Thanks for looking and HH!
