Wow, what a day, I’m still shaking! Today I decided to go back to my great aunts house where I recovered a lot of silver coins recently (by my standards). It was built in the 1930s and has been passed down in my family, i played there as a kid and so did my grandmother, her 6 sisters and 1 brother.
Anyway, I was recovering the usual who’sits and whatnots when I got another wheatie signal, I casually flipped over the plug expecting just that when I see an unusually shiny rounded edge and my heart stops... I had to close my eyes to just breath, looked down, and could see it was what I thought it was. GOLD!

My very first gold! And it was a HEFTY men’s wedding band, I ran in and washed it off and to my delight it was 18K! I was in awe, I called my aunt to see if it was my deceased great uncles, luckily she wasn’t missing any rings. I stashed it in my car and got back to detecting with a new outlook on signals.

About an hour passed and I was not finding much else so I was getting ready to pack it in when I got a pull tab signal that I almost passed on, but since it was close to where I found the ring I decided to go for it. I flipped the plug, brushed away some dirt and I couldn’t believe my eyes, ANOTHER FREAKING GOLD RING!!!

It was a small men’s signet ring 10K, I just sat there in disbelief. Once I collected myself I asked my aunt if she recognized it, she told me it was given to my uncle billy by my recently deceased aunt sherrill (who is buried 20ft from the spot I found the ring) for his 12th birthday... what a find. When I got home I called up my uncle and told him that I found his ring and that is like to return it to him, he was so happy he almost started to cry, I’m happy I could reunite him with such an important part of his life. And hey! I still got to keep a beautiful 6 gram 18K ring!!! (melt value is $230)

You had a simply marvelous day and you did a good thing returning your uncle’s ring. Even though it is in the family I still vote honorable mention. A good deed is a good deed and still helps one and all. Keep swingin (you might want to grid the yard and cover every inch).

Op also put you in for honorable mention. Good advice on going over that yard twice, maybe over three times

Love the 18k, has some age to it...looks early 1900's.
