Got out for a few hours this morning to an 1800s permission. First nice find was an 1853 LC.

This was followed by my third half cent ever, first Draped Bust, an 1807 (I think), holed, with the string still through the hole!

I also found two Indian Head pennies, an 1903 and an 1908, no S though. I found part of a shoe buckle and the nicest corral bell I have ever found.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Unfortunately the string disintegrated in the pouch, just glad I got a picture right out of the ground

Awesome save and wow! That picture completely and amazingly shows what we all knew but I'm sure many of us have never seen, strings and ropes through coins. That image is historically significant if you ask me. Shame it disintegrated. I am sure as I am further convinced that you would have displayed that proudly with string intact.

They are sweet finds

I have not see a coin with a string through it. That's cool man. Was there no way to leave the string in?

Anyway congrats. So cool!
