I am ALWAYS prospecting, DWB. That's what the guy at the metal detector store told me to say if I had trouble with any forest rangers. So far I haven't. There's still active mines and active claims here. I was out on the Snake River with the DFX in prospect mode and found a gold bracelet. I get lots of promising hits, but not much in the way of take home pay. I pan, too, but I'm still perfecting that technique.

Yeah, The Snake River...I once took a 10 man rubber raft trip down the Snake up at Jackson Hole! Incredible....awesome, beautiful, breathtaking, "God's Country"!

Good luck with the prospecting...I want to come out your way sometime and do just that! I have never prospected before and would love to give it a whack!

By the way...Great job on the gold bracelet!!! It doesn't make me any difference if it comes in the form of a nugget, or a bracelet, or a ring, or a tooth, gold is gold is gold is gold!
