Anybody use a drone to scope out new areas of interest? Bought a new one recently and it's amazing what can be found and the technology that's built into it.

I know I have. I also used it for weather, and everything else. Makes it easier than walking a field out or woods

Some aerial footage that helps out determining creek crossings or structures. 20200307_093410.webp20200307_093352.webp20200307_092922.webp

I saw a show where they use drones to scope out people's property for old cars

Haha man that's awesome. I never thought of that.

I’ve done it. Course folks can get all kinds of bent out of shape over flying over their property without their permission, and if you’re not explicably spying on them, or flying so low as to be a peeping Tom, the landowners don’t own the airspace. The flight rules for drones is set by the FAA, whereas, you are limited to fly in non restricted zones ie: parks, open property, fields, or anything for that matter, as long as you do not fly in a “No Fly Zone”, which now most drones have the ability to show you the no fly zones on your controller or phone before you cross it, and some are even setup to NOT cross No fly zones, I have a app called B4UFLY that I used for when I had my old drone that didn’t have built in no fly zone restrictions

Mine shows restricted zones and unrestricted zones. Then it breaks it down into what's restricted, sometimes it shows flight ceiling of 150 ft or below, or no flight at all. They are pretty cool, if you are flying into a restricted zone it will come to a complete stop outside of the boundary marker.

please help me to choose dron for natural photography

I have a mavic pro platinum I just bought. Had a chance to buy this or the mavic 2. There wasnt enough difference between the 2 for me to buy the mavic 2. Plus if you get a drone get the fly more combo comes with extra batteries a case, and extra blades.

I would love to buy a drone just to fly it around. I have an unused GoPro 7 that would be perfect for those aerial shots.

Honestly if u get a quality drone that go pro would be kinda just collecting dust. This drone shoots in 4I and can live stream while in air.

That’s cool! I did not know that.

Thanks for sharing the photos! :occasion14:

No, but then again I just got rid of my Flip Phone last year !

Sounds like my grandma. She’s 70+, had a flip phone for years, then they talked her in to getting a simple iPhone. She got one, and hasn’t looked back. She thought it would be too difficult, but after being a secretary for American Airlines CEO for years I’m pretty sure she can handle it
