I recently recovered this 1799 large cent. It doesn't appear to be the
98/99 version. Looks to be in pretty sharp condition. I'm just wondering what the value
Might be. I've seen them online for a good price. I don't usually sell but if this is worth close to what I'm seeing them maybe I'll let it go. I don't keep up the value of my relics but occasionally I'll look stuff up just to see. IMG_20210115_155744755_HDR.jpg

bad news, it is a dug copper. so it will get an environmental damage grade. probably worth less than half the prices you are seeing. That being said though, it is a great coin and a find I still hope to get one day. congrats!

If it were mine, I'd submit it to Heritage Auctions for their opinion of what I should reasonably expect to receive based on the coin's current condition; then I'd decide to have the coin returned to me or submitted in their next auction.
Great save !!
Welcome to treasurenet !!

Looks like a 1798 to me.....can't tell if it's an overdate or not.

I see 1798 clearly. If it is a 1799, the second 9's top is completely different than the first 9.
