A friend and I were out in the desert today detecting an early service station/rest stop/crossroads type area.I dug this 1883 Hawaii quarter dollar. I thought it was a Barber at first glance. Question for the coin guys......is this coin too damaged to have a numismatic value? PA050003.webpPA050004.webp

pretty coin never seen those

So awesome! There hard to find even here in Hawaii.

It’s a new type to me but it’s a beautiful coin! Good find.

Very cool find! I've never seen one and did not know that they exist.

Nice find. The answer is no, its not too damaged to have numismatic value. Might get discounted some, but it really doesn't look bad at all.

:icon_thumright:Cool find. Wanna send it to me?.....Thought not. ??? Enjoy your very cool coin.

Killer coin. I've only seen them in the Red Book. Congrats on a rare find!

I'm no expert, but I can say it's not too damaged to be AWESOME! Congrats!

AWESOME DIG!!! That is amazing, I've seen Hawaii quarters at coin shows but never seen one dug before. A unique and beautiful find! Even with the toning/corrosion this one is probably worth between $25 to 50 but the excitement of digging it makes it priceless!

Maybe about $40 worth.

Thanks to all for the compliments on this lucky find.
