A friend and I were out in the desert today detecting an early service station/rest stop/crossroads type area.I dug this 1883 Hawaii quarter dollar. I thought it was a Barber at first glance. Question for the coin guys......is this coin too damaged to have a numismatic value? PA050003.JPG PA050004.JPG

Nice find. The answer is no, its not too damaged to have numismatic value. Might get discounted some, but it really doesn't look bad at all.

AWESOME DIG!!! That is amazing, I've seen Hawaii quarters at coin shows but never seen one dug before. A unique and beautiful find! Even with the toning/corrosion this one is probably worth between $25 to 50 but the excitement of digging it makes it priceless!
