Dug in old mining town can anyone identify this iron object?

Merry Christmas to you JDD & all our fellow T'Hers. I wish I could be more definitive, but my first thought, because of the off-set "arm" extension, is a pedal, (brake, clutch, engaging mechanism) from some type of farming machinery or a truck or tractor etc.
Possibly a brake pedal to one of those mine ore carts that rolls on rails. Or, possibly a step-on pedal for a heavy-duty jack that's used for jacking up or supporting timbers inside the mines.
Good luck with the ID. Someone here might zero in on it for you. Thanks for posting & welcome to the forum !! CHEERS !!

Yes, looks like a Pedal.

I Agree on the pedal comments

Definitely from an old mining town....

But joking aside, looks very pedal like...

Agreed, and ones that are focused on the artifact and not the countertop behind it.

Another idea maybe some type of latch to keep a door closed. Also let me welcome you to a very fine forum !!
