sadly it was a 1996 P.... also a dateless buffalo nickel. less than 1.00 in clad. Starting to think that park is cleaned out of coins, i did dig a pouch full of S-caps and cans..

The first one is the hardest one to find! Congrats. Hopefully, a silver one will follow soon.

I have found 9 silver halves in 22 months! Old house yards and old schools have yielded the BIG silvers for me.

Just to "one up" gatordog7, here is a Barber half that I dug this summer in Philly... almost brand new! I was so shocked, that I could barely speak!

Thanks everyone, I dig in the city and it is tough, as most of the parks are hunted out to heck... I do find silver here and there, hopefully since NYC Parks has added more parks to the list of allowed metal detecting I'll find a silver half one of these days.

I dug three Kennedys this year (all clad...plus one walker) but what shocked me was that two of them were on top of the soil at two different locations. Just had to brush away some grass.
