Hi they had those when I was a kid in the 70's .. You were supposed to put a cap in them and throw them into the air....had lots of fun with them.....keep swinging!!

Sweet...I remember playing with those when I was a kid. You put paper caps (like for the old style cap guns)in them, then throw them for a bang.

My brother and I had a few of those when we were younger, early 80's. Your's may be older.

Lots of fun, hadnt seen one for a long time.

Great find and good luck on future hunts.

Lonnie

Nice find. Thats a sure trip down memory lane for me. Used to have several so I could make lots of noise. Mum sure didn't like them, wonder if its beacuse I used them scare her when she wasn't paying attention :o :o

WOW wish I had saved all the cap bombs I had as a kid in the 70's. Nice find!

Time flys when you're having fun! I used a similar one in the late 50's.

That thing is in great shape for being dug.
I remember them. Way cool to see one.
Thanks for sharing.

Nice legal noise maker that you could use all year long. I hate to give you some idea as to my age, but we had versions of this toy when I was a kid back in the late 50's and early 60's. Thanks for showing it. It brought back some good memories. HH Larry

Yeah I had several of these cap bombs myself in the early 70's, have no clue where mine went, possibly a cap bomb land fill somewhere ;D And the spring is still intact, sweet, good luck at finding the rolls of red paper caps. Ed

Cool find !!! I still have 1 of those on its original card unused.Produced from early 1950's through the mid 1970's.HH...Panz

That's as old as I am, and the dinosaurs spoke highly of me.

found one early this summer(one of my favorite finds)its hanging from my rear view mirror now.nice finds

Amazing what they gave kids to play with back in the good ol' days. "Here, Timmy, it's a little toy bomb. Just don't blow up your sister!"

I'm 45 I remember cap guns but never had the cap bomb , was back @ the same place last night and The GTP 1350 got its first silver ... 1944 Merc dime ;D

Hopefully detector is like a bird dog after its first taste of pheasant :)

That is a great cap bomb and will probably still work if you can find the caps. It kept me entertained for hours. I used it to blow up my toy soldiers and trucks, what a blast. Man did that bring back good memories. Thanks for sharing.

Yeap, 50's-60's for me. I’ve found a few parts to one, but never one intact.

Nice find.

I had one of those when I was a kid in the 70's (1970's, that is). I used to load them with the paper caps from the roll and drop the bomb from my stoop to the concrete patio below. If it didn't fall straight on it's nose, it wouldn't detonate. In these cases, I would yell, "DUD"!! When I got bored with that, it was always fun to just get down on the ground and strike the individual caps with a rock till they exploded..if you were really lucky, you could set the whole roll on fire..ah, those were the days!! Today's kids don't know what they're missing!
