Dug up an ancient doll head - please help me identify and date

A friend was tilling his garden in Northern Indiana and found this old stone doll head. It even has a hole in the head to put in real hair. Anyone have any idea how old this is or maybe even know if this was common of a certain Indian tribe? The biggest Indian tribe in the area was the Potawatomi.

That is very cool. I have two or three of these on the small side to which I am still trying to find out their origin. The ones I have are not native to the U.S I am told.
