dump bank question

so what happens when your dump bank starts getting alot of coins. like $100 in pennies. they're going through a coin counter machine, but then what happens? does brinks come and take them and then re roll/distribute them?

Yes. When the bank has X amount of coin the armored truck will pick up the coins. Dump in their Hopper and the coins will be mixed in, rerolled and shipped back out to the banks. That is why it is best to pick up from a bank that uses a different armored trucking service

When you guys talk about "dumping" what exactly are you doing? Do you take them in rolled and ask for cash back? Or do you exchange them for another type of coins such as quarters? Or do you only go to banks that have coin counters? I ask this because I only do cents and nickels so I only work with about $14 at a time and I just exchange them from nickels to cents over and over again at different banks. I can't imagine going in with $1000 in halves at a bank that I don't have an account at. I get enough problems with some of the banks with 20 rolls of cents if I don't have an account there.

You need an account for that amount in 99.9% of cases.
