DUMP FINDS

[Fishstank]

Been out with an old timer who was kind enough to take me to some old spots. Dumps don't replenish themselves like MDing spots can. But I am grateful to have gone and to keep going. Here are some pics of my finds and the holes that I have dug. Went yesterday and got 45 marbles, tax tokens, 1 silver 44 quarter and 43S nickel, 1934 buff and some other odds and ends. Also I love my new tumbler that Santa brought me.

Hey RayRay,

In Nevada you have some amazing ghost towns to choose from and they all had dumps. You just need to go out looking for em!! Go to Ghost Towns and History of the American West and start searching.

WOW! I like everything in your group of dump finds! For a couple years I lived, hiked & rock-hounded in central & southern Arizona, but I don't ever recall seeing dirt that looked as rich and soft as that big hole you dug, lol. I recall friendly wandering horses, tough caliche dirt, rattlers minding their own business, mean jumping-cholla cactus & fabulous sunsets! HAVE FUN! Andi

[PeteWmass]

were you sifting(?)

Not limited to ghost towns…..many towns had dumps before modern regulations went crazy……you just need to ask the old timers where…….

Yes I sift with a large screen. I did rake in that big crater of a hole. I think it's good to cover them up when your done digging. Hopefully everyone does too.
