Dumping help

Hi everyone! I just joined and started Coin roll hunting. A couple of days ago i got my first box. Which was pennys. Didnt do to bad about 30% copper and a few canadian and wheat pennies. Now that im done with the box im looking into dumping the coins. Not really sure how to tho. Any advice.

Welcome to the fun!!! Either re-roll or find a bank with a free coin counting machine for members. That is what a lot of us on here do!!!

take them to one of your banks. I make sure I have accounts at a couple banks to I can dump for free......Matt

Any big banks you can think of that have free counters??

Have at the bare minimum 2 banks: 1 to order and pick up; one to dump. Take care how you dump; that is, at least for me, I try to find a dump bank that either has a coin counter (that does not charge customers) or bag it and take it to the teller. It takes about 4 days for the deposit if the bank "sends" it off to be counted.

The coin counter or bank bagging it to be sent off and counted is essential IMO. It saves a ton of time rerolling. Just make sure you at least know approximately what you have, so you can argue if you get shorted by too much. I got lucky when I set things up at my current dump bank, one of the tellers knew exactly what I was doing and why when I asked "Do you know why I have so many half dollars?" when I had a backpack with about $584 loose. I put those in the machine, but then found out they can be bagged and sent to HQ to be counted and have since done that. Half Dollars are kind of rough on their machine, especially in the quantity I would bring, so I do that to avoid getting cut off from dumping there. I even shot the teller a friend request on Facebook and she accepted.
