Relic Hunting
One of my digging partners in Tennessee dug this on a battle site on his family's farm.

Would any one know what it may pertain to? If any thing?

Could it possibly be something to do with the Forty-sixth Regiment, Company E?

If it would be a Company letter E, than it will have to marks, one on each end from where wire braids would have been for mounting.
