Went to a church in town today to get permission to hunt where they have scraped the land in preparation for construction.
Come to find out the Pastor is a THer and using his DFX found a 17xx Reale on the site. ( and thanks for permissions Pastor Doug, if your a TNet user too :) ).

So after 4 hours there today here is the haul. One Eagle Lock Co, Terriville CT U.S.A. Padlock with PAT Feb 25 1896 on the lock. Its in excellent shape and the round arm still moves. Some strange pipe fittings. A bell top. and a few coins. 2 Lincolns and one badly corroded coin which will go into the peroxide bath tonight. (probably just another Lincoln)

Judging by the depth he found the reale (10+inches) I'm not sure I'll be finding any old coins, but still a fun sites and I'll give it a few more passes.

Thanks for looking.

That's a pretty neat looking lock, nice find!

Thanks,

and it turns out the other bad coin was a lincoln. 1946 wheat cent.

That is a great looking lock...would make a very nice display piece.

Congrats

That's a pretty lock. I found an Eagle lock earlier this year too. I love that spade design on the one you found.

Congratulations!
