Whats up my friends.... :D Well I had to work on Sunday and today was my off day so today was like my SUNDAY ;D ;D ;D  Anyway, went to some nice new spots I scouted and mapped and spent about 3 hours there. A thunderstorm was coming and the wind picked up and started whipping, and the lightning and thunder then came but that couldn't drive out a DIE hard like me so I stayed at it.....Luckily I did, because it parted about 20 minutes later and I found a beautiful lil "Eagle" ;D that came soaring out of the dirt when I pulled the plug out. It stayed laying there on top of the dirt staring at me. I didn't know whether or not he was a GS Eagle or a Eagle I, so I put him in my pouch until later  :)
Well, here's my take. I am trying to figure out the brass piece in center...At first I thought maybe some sort of sash hanger but I am leaning away from that.. :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch: (Remember the larger number of musket balls is due to the fact that I was behind Confederate lines)

The take:

-6 musket balls
-2 bucks from buck and ball
- .58 Caliber 3 Ringer
- 1 Type II Williams Cleaner
- 1 old Can Opener
- 1 Beautiful General Service Eagle (cleaned off to make sure it wasnt a Eagle "I")

I also took some video of this hunt that I will put up tomorrow...
Hope you enjoyed looking at my finds and there will be more to come. Thanks for looking!

I have added a couple of videos from this hunt that I was able to take before my batteries died. I apologize in ADVANCE for some of the shaky camera work as I was alone, and therefore was trying to film, dig, and detect in 90 degree heat :tard: :tongue3:

I'd be more than happy to get you a closer pic of the "Eagle" in fact I was in the process of doing that

Doug, I CAN'T BELIEVE it, when you have highs and lows in this hobby and this was definitely a really nice day for me to find all these wonderful things in just a few hours! I still can't believe it either. I didn't ever expect that little piece of metal I found to be a Silver Reale...the Eagle would've been nice enough for me so I am pretty happy right now!

Re: EAGLE rises from the Earth

Some great finds for you, Josh!

It's been a while since I've found much CW lead--I'm getting that lead "itch" again.

The Eagle is in great shape, and the lead is all splendid. I don't know what that piece in the middle is. I wouldn't think it'd be a sword hanger, but the Sesesh did with what they had--so it could very well be a homemade one.

Regards,

Buckleboy

P.S.--I posted some thoughts in your other thread too.

Re: EAGLE rises from the Earth

No idea on the brass piece ???

But . . . very nice finds. Let's see that bigger picture, we always like to see the eagles close up ;D

Thanks Joe, yeah, I am like Montana Jim when it comes to Eagles= THE MORE THE BETTER ;D ;D ;D I love them. I was hoping to have an Eagle A or C or I but I will take the GS :icon_pirat: I was happy with those finds and the Cob was the very VERY surprising 'icing on the cake'. I tell you what though, it was hotter than Hades yesterday and was sweating out gallons it felt like BUT I did not quit, and I worked for those finds for sure. Hope you are doing good bud! Keep the passion high buddy!

Thanks bud. The videos are always nice to make when I can. It was definitely hot and humid that day but I perserved and went through and finished recording until the batteries went out. Putting 100 percent in it to provide the fine people on TNet with some nice photos and videos :icon_thumleft:
