Turns out it is a cartridge box plat...still cool... Cuban button is regimental button of Cuban militia from 1789-1821. Lived in Florida all my life and never heard of them.

There's sure a mixture of great recoveries at the site. Congrats on the hunt.
Liking the plate and the awesome buttons, the Cuba one is a sweet looking keeper.
I think that the Cuba button is quite rare also, as there's only one reference from the Fl. Museum
