Early copper !!

Found this guy about 5 inches down in sandy soil . Anyone know what it is ?!?!

Being that it was found in sandy soil and it's hammered is there any reason why this can't be silver (cob)?
Giving it it's blackness.

I think it's king Phillip II of Spain which it would be bronze

I thought the same thing when I first saw it. Are you sure its not silver? (Don't scratch it to find out) Either way super rare old find for the USA. Your town is 1652? Swing that whole entire town! Theres more me thinks

Congrats on a great Pre-Colonial find. I'm right near you in MA...just a few towns away. In fact I was detecting in your town just yesterday...I sure didn't find anything as spectacular as that though! Great find you got there.
