Hello Tnet! Pulled this at a site that's given up few Reales, large cents and old silver. I see an eagle on this pewter button. Any experts want to point my me in the right direction with this?

I love old buttons especially military. Your example looks very old. I am not sure which method of cleaning it might safely remove some crud to present more detail but, that would help identify your find. I'd hate to damage any item as old and cool as yours but, I also always want to recover enough detail to ID my items. May be some stamping on the reverse to show the manufacturer? Cool find mate.
