Royal Navy Captain or Commander button 1774 to 1787. This was the transition button from that with the Tudor rose. There were apparently many makers of this button. Some with rope, some with chain. Yours has the hatched anchor, some did not. Yours seems to be in excellent condition with plenty of gilding remaining. Congrats! I have found one, but it is considerably roached out.
