I haven't been able to do much diggin around here as my jack hammer is broken. I took a road trip(had to get away from all the company) to a base ball field that I had hunted in the spring and did pretty good. The grass had been mowed alot shorter than this spring and I was able to get some depth. My old CZ6 does pretty good but not with 6 inches of grass. Whoever has hunted here in the past didn't like to dig nickles as I got 8 (one silver.) I had 17 wheats, 6 Indians, 2 barber dimes,11-01, 2 mercs. 16p--36p, war nickle 43p, 6 V-nickles and 1 buff. Big silver of the day was a first for me. 1904 Newfoundland 50 cents. and a silver signet ring "H". Also got a toy car and token good for 12 1/2 cent drink. Not a bad day for an old man.

That Newfie half is a tough find...especially in your neck of the woods!

Nice Newfoundland coin..I think that Newfoundland didn't become part of Canada until the early 50's, soyou have a coin from a country that no longer exists. Pretty neat, eh?
