That is very interesting Steve, that is how I would have imagined the lodges to look.
 
I special way they have the bison skull for decoration. Is that a white man addition?

olroy70 - This painting by George Catlin (1837-39) shows bison skulls on top of the earthlodges.

Thanks Steve - The ND heritage center is one of the better museums, in terms of being educational. I'm a regular there. You take the same pictures that I do, lol.
