Hey gang! Well Yesterday I must say was a blast! My adventure began at 5am when i got up and went to go meet Nate(JuJu) at the Northbend outlet mall. Once I got there we loaded the detectors up in his car and we were off to wenatchee. Well we met 49er and lasttoknow at a gas station in wenatchee. All three of us exchanged stories and where we would like to go metal detecting. Lots of very interesting stories I might add. 49er and lasttoknow are both very awesome and nice guys to metal detect with!
49er told us that he had plans for us to hit a couple of swimming area's where me and Nate could use our water detectors. Nate thought I was crazy because I was going in my bathing suit!
Well I did and at the first park; I got an air soft clip and 26 cents. Not bad. Then we decided to go onto a second park which was a state park. We were not sure if we could hunt this or not. 49er said it was ok because there were no signs saying we could not hunt it.
Me and Nate jumped in the water with our detectors. I would say about my 5th or 6th target I scored silver!
I pulled out a .925 toe ring out of my scoop!
I was excited to say the least. Well we were there for around 30 minutes to an hour. 49er said we should go to another swimming hole that he saw just up the road about 3-4 miles. Well after circling what seemed to be 7-10 times. We finally decided it was time to do some turf hunting!
We met at this one park that was created in 1998. 49er said there was a fair here a couple weeks ago. We all turned on our detectors and started searching. Nate was the star of this park! He got so many quarter signals it was unbelievable! I got around 16 cents out of this park. It was alright.
The last park of the day with 49er and lasttoknow was this park in the middle of town. We thought since it was so old and next to the jail we would get a lot of older hits. Well we did but none were old. Nate got a 1960's penny, I believe.
After talking for 20-30 minutes. We said our goodbyes and started home. I suggested to Nate that we hit up a nearby ghost town on the way home. I had pretty good luck last time with the miners headlamp and the old shotgun shell. I asked the proclaimed major for permission again just to make sure when we got there. I showed Nate the field that was so successful and told him the stories of people getting lots and lots of items out of this ghost town. The field that we hunted was only hit by me; at least that's what the proclaimed major had said before.
My first signal was an old water pipe late 1800's to early 1900's. My second signal was a late 1800's to early 1900's oil canteen or water canteen. They are both soaking right now. I am going to try and get a patented date of either one of them.
